Meet the driving force behind Arete Athletics: a seasoned trainer with over 7 years of experience in both personal and group fitness. Certified by ISSA, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every session, tailored to meet the unique goals and needs of each client.

Sean’s journey into fitness began in childhood, where a love for athletics ignited a lifelong passion for health and wellness. Through sports, he discovered the transformative power of fitness, experiencing firsthand how it fosters confidence, structure, and effective communication skills. This profound understanding fuels his dedication to helping others unlock their full potential through physical activity.

Beyond the studio, you'll often find him immersed in the pages of a book, exploring the great outdoors on leisurely walks, or cherishing quality time with loved ones. His commitment to personal growth extends far beyond the gym, embracing a well-rounded lifestyle centered on both physical and mental well-being.

With a blend of expertise, passion, and genuine care, Sean strives to empower individuals to lead healthier, happier lives, one workout at a time.

Paul Brooks

Head Coach

ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 2015, ACE Weight Management Specialist since 2019, ACE Functional Training Specialist since 2021, and ACE Sports Performance Specialist since 2024

Paul began his fitness journey in 2001, when he lost 120lbs. In the ensuing 10 years, he gained 90% of the weight back and realized that he needed to develop a sustainable lifestyle that included steady nutritional standards, strength training, and cardiovascular training. It was during this time that he developed his “Three Legged Stool” philosophy of well being. He realized that not only did he need to address his physical body, but that he also needed to prioritize emotional and spiritual growth. If any of those 3 vital components (physical/emotional/spiritual) of his life regressed, it threw his whole life out of balance. At that time, he was a retail manager, developing his ability to motivate and mentor vastly different individuals. By 2015, it became evident that Paul’s calling was coaching. He realized that he had developed a skillset that would perfectly transfer away from management and into fitness coaching. It was then that he became certified and began his coaching career at Orangetheory Fitness, where he spent 5 years developing his craft. Paul joined Arete’ Athletics in early 2023 and has fallen in love with it’s amazing, inspiring and thriving community. Paul’s coaching style is high energy, inclusive, challenging and inspiring. He draws on his own personal experiences to relate to every individual in their own way. He is passionate and cares deeply about what he does. Witnessing our member’s progress and growth feeds his soul. 

Paul is married and has 2 boys for whom he models a healthy, active lifestyle. He enjoys running, hiking, hockey and assembling Legos with his youngest.

Jules Mastrocola

Meet Juliano Mastrocola, or simply Jules! With an ACSM certification and an associate's degree in Exercise Science, Jules is equipped with the knowledge and skills to help you reach your fitness aspirations.

Beyond the gym walls, Jules finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing moments spent with loved ones and his loyal four-legged companion. Drawing from his days as a college baseball athlete, he understands firsthand the importance of perseverance and the exhilaration of achieving one's goals.

Fuelled by a passion for pushing boundaries and embracing challenges, Jules is dedicated to guiding you towards newfound strength and vitality. His mission extends beyond mere fitness; he's committed to cultivating a lifestyle that brims with health, energy, and fulfillment.

Meet Stacey Brown, a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM, whose dedication to health and wellness goes beyond the gym floor. With a background as a seasoned Registered Nurse (RN) boasting over 15 years of experience, Stacey brings a unique blend of compassion, resilience, and advocacy to her fitness practice.

Having witnessed firsthand the impact of chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes as leading causes of kidney failure, Stacey's passion for promoting healthier lifestyles runs deep. Her career as an RN has been dedicated to providing compassionate care to individuals battling kidney failure, spurring her to expand her reach beyond traditional healthcare settings.

Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact, Stacey is currently pursuing Nutrition and Wellness Certifications, aiming to offer holistic guidance to members. Through education, advocacy, and personalized care, she empowers individuals to embrace healthier choices that can potentially prevent or prolong the onset of chronic conditions.
